SUBJECT: Rental assistance offered to those in hardship due to COVID-19
Truck And Tools wants to pass along information to all unemployment claimants:
If you are struggling to pay rent due to financial hardship for any reason as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic you should apply for rental assistance which is funded by the several current bills signed into law.
Every state to include territories is offering some type of rental assistance.
Every state will have it's own website and phone number to apply.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Renters who meet the following requirements should apply today:
- Tenant resides in a rental unit.
- At least one individual in the household qualified for unemployment benefits or experienced a reduction in household income, incurred significant costs or experienced other financial hardship due directly or indirectly to COVID-19.
- Tenant has received a past-due rent notice, past-due utility notice, or an eviction notice or is experiencing housing instability.
Landlords may also apply.
The program funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 focuses on paying past-due rent dating back to April 2020 and up to three months of future rent for eligible applicants. Priority is given to households where at least one member has been unemployed for more than 90 days due to COVID-19 and to households with very low income earnings which is 50 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI). Payment is sent directly to your landlord.
