FEMA is here to help you in the short term recovery processes quickly after a declared disaster. They do not have the knowledge to advise you for your long term recovery other than giving you a simple damage estimate and offering you up to SBA for loans.
FEMA has increased the amount of grant funding for all declared disasters after October 1, 2021 to $37,900 for housing assistance and $37,900 for other needs assistance. It is your responsibility to push for the maximum amounts and use the grant wisely.

When you are navigating the federal disaster assistance agencies your first stop should be to the TruckAndTools.Com Disaster Resources.
